Some people put more load on their machine.
I see the body as a machine. Athletes tend to stress theirs more.
The difference between a daily driver and NASCAR: one gets routine maintenance, the other gets engine refreshes and tear downs. Increase the stress and you increase the maintenance schedule.
Are you in one of these three places?
Training now and you want to keep training? Routine maintenance gives me the chance to find “it” before it finds you.
Hurt, and you want back. Back to training, back to your sport. I understand, and I will help as much as I can.
Or you have been thinking about taking something up — a race, a season, a gym. Do your sentences keep beginning with I would love to do that, but my…
Most athletes find me after an injury. You don’t need one to start. Nobody gets a perfect body any more than they get perfect eyesight, and under normal load you would never notice. Sometimes it has a genetic component, combined with the stress you’re adding.
Same for all three. One person, hands on the whole time, long enough to ferret out the problem. $149 an hour, and you choose how many.
I can’t promise, and I would like the chance to find out. I have helped people out of deep holes — not always fun, not always quick, but everyone has told me it was worth it.
Even if you have tried everything, give me an hour or two and let’s see if that’s true.
“When I started going there I couldn’t even run anymore. My ankle was completely bummed out. Within 3 visits i was able to start training for flag football again. By visit 5 i was able to play in my first scrimmage. Fast foward to visit 12 and we’re talking about how I play a big part in winning my tournament this weekend!”
A golf swing and a deadlift ask different things of a body.
A runner is mostly legs, hips and low back. Golf and racket sports bring the shoulder in — unilateral rotation, thousands of reps turning the same way — while body building asks for symmetry instead, both sides matching under load. I have seen a lot of pitchers’ shoulders, and with football it tends to be everything at once.
Tell me what your sport asks of you and I will work the body that has to do it. Same tools, read differently. I work toward your goal, not mine.
Book an hour and tell me what you are training for.
“Dr. Eric also has the ability to work with the competitive athlete. Athletes do a lot of repetitive movements that can unbalance their structure and create movement issues. As a high school football coach and the dad of a former competitive softball catcher, I would recommend no one else to work with an athlete.”
Olympic medalists to AAU, and everyone in between.
Olympic gold. Pan-Am champions. Junior Olympics. MEAC tournaments. Indoor and outdoor championships in track and field. Level 9 gymnasts. CrossFit competitors. Ultrarunners. Flag football players and high school athletes whose coach sent them.
I have been on a start line too.
I’ve raced 100-mile mountain bike events and back-packed long distances. I know what it’s like to train for something and need my body to hold up.
I enjoy being part of a team, your team. I want you to win, whatever that is for you.
